What does this mean? Does this mean that the Republican Party is going to attempt to run against Obama in 2012 with Michael Steele? Who knows. At the same time, wouldn't that be interesting? Either way, congratulations Michael Steele, but more importantly, congratulations G.O.P..

He;s a good man. A very thoughtful conservative and to all appearances a man with little to hide. Another interesting point is that he is from Maryland, my home state. A very Catholic state with a better than average civil rights record, a reputation for political chicanery and one not known as a bastion for conservatives or Republicans.
Growing up as both was not easy here in what we call the People's Republic of Maryland. Fortunately, now that I have moved well to the center I can appreciate the qualities of someone like Steele with a new perspective.
